Final Submission

Function is Form - School of Architecture

Please find attached Links to the Concept Models in SketchUp as well as the final design exported into a CryEngine Environment.

Below you will find posts with many associated images, explanations, concept drawings and textures.

This experiment was primarily guided through concept sketching and the exploration of architectural theories in order to create a design for a hypothetical school of architecture with 100 students. The overarching themes for my design were a balanced and environmentally light structure that accommodates spaciously for all 100 students. The integration this provided design thesis with my architectural theory 'function is form' saw the creation of my CryEngine environment and the folly within it.

Model Progression and Peer Reviews

I created a sketchup model to reflect the proposed building plan, it's large height and implementation across within the actual bridge give an inherent flow to the architecture.  I believe this strongly reflects my architectural theory, 'Function is Form' where in the occupation of the building and the ability to pass through it are integrated with the architectural design.
